"The Hunter" - Introduction of Valance the bounty hunter.

Issue #16 October 1978

"The Hunter" - Introduction of Valance the bounty hunter.

Beilert Valance, a bounty hunter with a strong dislike for droids, leads his group of mercenaries on a ruthless assault of Anglebay Station located on Telos IV. During their attack, they come across Don-Wan Kihotay, who shares his thrilling experience with the Star-Hoppers of Aduba-3. Mistakenly assuming that the Star-Hoppers are the Rebel group responsible for destroying the Death Star, Valance and his gang believe that a young farm boy named Jimm Doshun is actually Luke Skywalker. Driven by the desire for the substantial reward for capturing the boy who destroyed the Empire's most powerful weapon and his personal disdain for droids, Valance immediately sets out to find Jimm. However, Jaxxon and Amaiza Foxtrain discover Valance's plan and rush to Aduba-3 to warn Jimm about the impending danger posed by the bounty hunters. A fierce battle ensues upon the arrival of Valance's gang, resulting in the deaths of most of his comrades at the hands of the three Star-Hoppers. It is only at this point that Valance, as the sole survivor of his gang, realizes that he had been pursuing the wrong boy all along. Nonetheless, he manages to escape using the blaster embedded in his cybernetic arm, catching the others off guard, before departing from the planet aboard his ship named Kill Switch.
