Star Date 3497.2 – The USS Enterprise under Captain Kirk is sent to Capella IV, a planet whose inhabitants are in the middle of an ongoing feud between two warring factions.

Kirk and his crew are asked to negotiate a peaceful end to the conflict, and Leonard McCoy discovers a pregnant woman from one of the tribes named Eleen.

Eleen is played by actress Terry Carter and is determined to help end the conflict and give her unborn child a better life.

The Enterprise crew discovers that the Klingons are behind the conflict and are supplying weapons to both sides. Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and Eleen realize they must find a way to prove the Klingon involvement and negotiate a peace agreement.

Kirk leads a dangerous mission to confront the Klingons and successfully proves their involvement, stopping the war and making peace on Capella IV.

After her appearance in Star Trek, Terry Carter went on to star in numerous TV series and movies, including The Streets of San Francisco, Planet of the Apes, and the Bond film, Diamonds are Forever.

Interesting fact: This episode was directed by legendary director Joseph Pevney who directed over 50 episodes of Star Trek.
