From 1977 to 1985, Kenner created more than one hundred action figures for their Star Wars collection. According to the details from the cards that accompanied each figure, the figures' shape, name, and product numbers were all potential changes after their debut. Therefore, the list is not solidified by any single characteristic but rather a combination of all the features. Ninety-six action figures are listed, although the final card-back advertised 92/93 figures. This is because Kenner released new versions of R2-D2 and C-3PO with different product numbers and discontinued the previous versions.
As a result, two versions of R2-D2 were removed, and one version of C-3PO. Two Bespin Security Guard action figures, numbered 39810 and 69640, have the same name, and both appear on their respective card backs! In addition, an American release of a 45-Back "The Empire Strikes Back" card in 2018 finally confirmed the existence of C-3PO (Removable Limbs), numbers 69430 and 69600. Though a taller blue Snaggletooth, Max Rebo, Sy Snootles, and Droopy McCool were made for inclusion in Kenner Star Wars sets, they were never sold on blister cards. Jabba the Hutt and other Star Wars characters were also designed for this line, but they're only sometimes seen as part of the action figure line-up. The years listed in the table referred to when the figures were made, not when they were released!
In 1985, the figure range was renamed Power of the Force, in which a further 15 figures were released. In addition, two different Star Wars action figure lines were released based on the animated series Star Wars: Droids and Star Wars: Ewoks. The Droids range comprised 12 figures (two of which were identical to figures from the main Star Wars line), and the Ewoks line comprised six figures.
