Story Synopsis
Nancy Drew is summoned to New York City by her Aunt Eloise to investigate the mysterious disappearance of her neighbor, a young university student named Chi Che. The intrigue deepens when Nancy discovers that Chi Che, the granddaughter of an elderly Chinese author, may have been kidnapped. To uncover the truth, Nancy employs a clever ruse: she disguises her tomboyish friend George Fayne as the missing girl to draw out the perpetrators.
The trail leads Nancy, Bess, and George from the streets of Manhattan to the exotic locales of Hong Kong. Along with Ned Nickerson, who is studying abroad, the young detectives follow clues involving a suspicious bookstore owner and a mysterious fire dragon tattoo. Nancy's pursuit of justice leads her into the heart of an international smuggling ring.
