Star Date: 5476.3 Location: Near asteroid Yonada

In the episode “For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky,” the USS Enterprise is on a mission to investigate an asteroid called Yonada. The asteroid is revealed to be an ancient spaceship carrying what is left of an ancient civilization.

Captain Kirk, Spock, Dr. McCoy, Scot, Sulu, Checkov, and Uhura all take part in the investigation of the asteroid. Of particular note is the enigmatic Oracle of the ancient civilization, played by actress Kate Woodville. Her character is integral to the plot, as she reveals information about the asteroid’s mission and its connection to the inhabitants of Yonada.

The inhabitants of the asteroid, known as the Fabrini, face a difficult challenge in this episode. The Oracle reveals to the Enterprise crew that Yonada is heading towards an unreachable star, and the inhabitants have only a short time to prevent their destruction.

Using their usual ingenuity, the Enterprise crew can disable Yonada’s auto-pilot and return the asteroid to its proper course. Then, with the help of the Oracle, the crew of the Enterprise can save the Fabrini.

After her appearance in this episode, actress Kate Woodville went on to appear in other television shows, most notably “Kung Fu,” “The Bionic Woman,” and “The Six Million Dollar Man.”
